I'm trying to remove this shower valve face plate.

The plate retaining rings are stuck to the plastic collar and the plate, they won't budge.

Anyone any ideas please?

Hi,

I'd have a go with something like Cillit Bang 'Limescale and Grime' to start with.
Give the rings a good soak to try and get rid of that limescale - rinse and repeat! :)

Thanks,

I had assumed those chrome rings were screwed to the brass assembly behind.
but looking at another one of these it looks like they are just spacers.

Next question:
How can I remove the cartridge?

I tried turning the black plastic nut but it started to disintegrate :(
