Hi, spare room in our 1930s semi had an en suite built by previous owners. See pics, I am happy to smash out tiles and walls, but I also need to isolate/ remove power, lighting, saniflo outlet and water supply. I will probably reuse the light circuit for a wall light.

Slight complication is that the loft above has subsequently been converted, so no access up there.

How would you recommend this being done (minimising damage to ceiling etc)?

I am happy to diy as much as possible, but getting to the radiator in particular is worrying me.

Many thanks!

Where you remove tile you will need a plasterer, so for not a lot more money they can re-skim the ceiling, and blend it into the bedroom.

With that in mind, maybe just drop the entire ceiling of the bathroom whilst it still has a door, and then you can remove everything properly. Might even be able to add a socket in the loft conversion, that you wish was there?

Thanks that’s helpful. So, cut a section from the ceiling, then:

Saniflo white waste pipe - cut off in ceiling space and blank off?
Polypipe? Similarly cut off in ceiling? Or do I need to go further back to the source? what’s the best way to safely blank polypipe?

I need to remove more tiles around the radiator side to investigate.

I will probably need to get an electrician to tidy up sockets, lighting and shower.

Could the shower cable (presumably 9 kw?) be diverted downstairs to use for a new induction job in the future for example? Worth leaving it accessible?
