What's the best way to remove the Fischer Duopower Wall plugs? They've been put in a plaster cavity (on the ceiling part of a bay window for a curtain rail). I've tried removing by putting a screw in slightly and levering out with a hammer as with a normal wall plug, but they don't budge and I don't want to pull a huge piece of plasterboard with them. I've tried knocking them through but they aren't budging (again I've tried it with a screw slightly screwed in and they still aren't budging). They're flat to the board so nothing I can get pliers on. It also means I can't fill them without the plug showing through.

Has anyone managed to remove them or got any suggestions?

Many thanks

If the collar is proud, I cut it back and then use an over sized screw (or drill bit) to whack the plug below the surface.

@foxhole 's suggestion works as well.

Grip and pull the head/collar with needle nosed pliers, cut head off, and plug can be pushed back in.

Blup
