i have a had a lieak inside a partition wall in a bathroom all ixed

Now just want to elimimant the mould and seal in

the wall had insulation wool in, which i have removed
it was a leak at the celing , and dripped down inside to the floor

The partition wall was made of 3 or 5 ply which had mould on the outside , very slightly in places
and i cut out a piece beneathe the cupboard

MY plan , and if any one else can help and suggest alternatives

i shall use some bleach on the ceiling plaster board an on the plywood to remove the existing mould -

BUT Thats just the outside , cant get inside -

BUT i suspect once dried out in a week , if we get good weather , it will just die off anyway

OR would i be better off with a product specific for mould from screwfix

then I need to seal it all in - so paint wise

somehting like - this

OR paint over with Zinsser B-I-N

What do you all think

Wash what you can reach.
Let it dry.
Zinnser BIN then paint.

I've painted over mould loads of times.
I just wash over with sugar soap or warm water with a splash of bleach.
Don't get worried about it. All easy enough.
Washing off is not really very effective anyway as it is stained.

thanks , excellent i got some BIN now - so once it has dried out - which is going to take a long while - we will wash down as suggested and then BIN it

Thanks again

got those going in the room and window wide open , then in evening i put a fan heater on just to get the rooma bit warmer, I alos have a small dehuidifier comming tonight - actually draw the water out , so we are not just recirculating it !!!!! - very very wet, in there , i suspect the wall has been soaked for weeks

I found a good white vinigar & bleach solution with 3/4 water & then a good anti mold paint is a good sealer & the walls i did 2 year ago are still good.

Don't put heater on as that cost money.
Just air movements is all you need.
Like a washing line on a windy day...

oh ok, thanks , I'm now not sure i fixed the leak !!!!!

we had to replace the HOT water pipe, the leak was in the bend of the hot water pipe , not as first though the cold inlet pipe !!! right in the eves !!!!!!!!

anyway now back to drying out again

thanks for for the tip on the heater -
i have a fan blowing , and a very small dehunidifer ( i got for amazon and its tiny , almost like one of those situaltions where you see a chair and when it comes its for a dolls house , amy way anythign that get the water out the air)

Before you seal anything in, make sure that leak is actually stopped. Dry the area out as best you can, then leave it a few days and check for any fresh damp patches on the bare plasterboard. Even a tiny weep will show up once it is dry. If it stays bone dry you are safe to BIN it and paint, but sealing over a leak that is still going will just trap the water and the mould will come straight back.
