Hello

I am laying a engineered floor through my hall and have been getting conflicting advice at to whether to remove the parquet blocks or not, which cover about half of the hall (other half of hall is cement/screed - floor is currently level throughout). The blocks are set on bitumen on a solid concrete floor and are about 1.25" thick.

If i removed the blocks, would it just be a matter of pouring leveling compound to a depth of 1.25" to fill the space and bring it level to the rest of the floor? Or would the bitumen need to be removed (yikes).

I guess a builder would do this, but at less than 10sqm i think its a small job? Or a odd job person?

Any advise appreciated - thanks.

Thanks
Mike

Why do you not fix some batons to the floor and then fix some ply on top to make up the difference in height.
