Hi there,

First post as I normally what I need on here after a google search.

I’m having an issue with the slow draining shower and I’m a bit reluctant to just keep pouring down the unblocker liquid so would like to rod it (with the flexible snake type).

The problem I’m having is removing the inner part of the trap so that the connection to the waste pipe is accessible to rod.

The drain cover is either stuck fast or not supposed to move and I’m reluctant to force it in case I’m not supposed to an it effects the seal.

A couple of photos below - the cap just lifts off so it the chrome surround in the photo I’m not sure if I’m suppose to be able to unscrew / lift out?

Any help much appreciated!

Can be difficult to be sure as there are a number of mechanisms to fit these traps and we're not on site.

Looking at the chrome ring and those indentations would suggest that it unscrews. The thing about that is it will loosen the underside part of the trap and more importantly, the seal. You really need to be able to get underneath so you can ensure everything is held together.

Stick a wet vac on it. Usually works well on those smaller shower traps.
