OK next problem
Started to remove self adhesive vinyl tiles tonight due to fact that some have lifted at the edges and some are hardly stuck down.Tiles themselves are coming up ok with a little help from a hot air gun but where they have stuck to floor its leaving a tacky residue.

Does this need to be removed and if so any suggestions?-read somewhere that acetone might shift it which I can easily get hold of from work or can new tile adhesive be laid straight onto it?

TIA Phil

Acetone should soften it so that it can be scraped up. Try and get as much off as you can, but a little won't make any difference.
