Removing Windows

Now I've installed Lubuntu and it works what is the best way to remove Windows and once done will Lubuntu recognise the extra storage.

The best way....

Is to completely delete all partitions on the HDD (losing all data so a backup to another hdd is a must) and then start with lubuntu from the beginning.

At the moment I do have problems connecting to the net,I have to go into acer internet manager to switch it on,what happens to the likes of this will I be able to retrieve it?
It an acer computer.

My HDD was already portioned,so I backed up and deleted all on one side,installed Lubuntu and all is good.
