renalt scenic wont start when hot

does anybody have any idea why my dads scenic wont start when its hot? we have to leave it about 20 mins to cool down before it will start again.

You don't say petrol / diesel. As a starter for 10 - Crank position sensor failing due to heat soak i.e. ok while running and air is flowing through the engine bay, when you stop temps rocket. If it's petrol - ignition modules etc.

ECU temp sender.

Get a fault code reader (or get a garage to read any codes) and it'll give you a better idea.

If its a petrol model, I would go for the TDC sensor (as stated above). Mine went, with the same faults.

£17 from renault and can be fitted by the owner. Two bolts to hold it in and a electrical plug. Although I did find it hard to get at, due to a tight gap.
