Hi. I need to take the render off the back of the house as it's in poor condition and is causing damp. Does the render have to be replaced or can the brick be repointed and left?
Any information would be great fully received

You'll very likely find that when you take the render off, the bricks will be too messy and dirty just to repoint. There are all sorts of renders that you can use, such as monochouche etc rather than sand and cement.
