Renewing cable from rose to switch

Hi I want to drop a 3 and earth from my old ceiling light to my switch. Now have a twin and earth with the neutral as switch wire and also at this switch 3 and earth to another switch at the bottom of the stairs. Now the ceiling is dropped and the attic above floored. So I plan to disconnect the existing cables and test for continuance and that will tell me what cable to do away with. There shouldn’t be anything else coming of this cable from ceiling to switch should there

Yes my mistake been asking about dropping neutrals to the switches so got caught up with it
