Hello All,

My floor madeup of approx 20 mm plyboard, i had new central heating done and central heating engineer has cut playboard to get under the floor on quite a few places.

When i am walking over my floor it makes noise. It also sinks on few places where it has been cut.

I am in process of changing my carpet but before i replace new carpet i need to fix my existing plyboard floor with new floor board. I don't want wooden floor because i will put new carpet and ofcourse wooden floor is cold compared to carpet.

I got a quote from local joiner that it will cost £2000 just for labour. This includes loabor cost for putting insulation between joist of suspended floor. He says wooden floor will cost around £25 per sq meter which is extra.

I have come across this website where i can find TGV red wood for £1.22 per linear meter. http://www.buildingsuppliesrus.co.uk/product.asp?id=9974&aid=&aguid=&b=&guid=

I want to know if can use this floor board to replace my existing plyboard flooring or should i just put another 4 mm plyboard on top of existing plyboard and screw them tightly to get rid of noises?

I need some information on this red wood http://www.buildingsuppliesrus.co.uk/product.asp?id=9974&aid=&aguid=&b=&guid=.

Is it good enough to use this? if so why it is so cheap ?

Thanking You all in advance.
