Hi all, I'm trying to fix the soldier course and window cill of a window opening - I pictures attached.

The window cill was painted over last year but paint has come off again - what is the best course of action here?

The soldier course has had a "gap"
since we moved in two years ago. Is there a DIY way to fix this or do I need a professional?

Thanks a lot for any advice
Ben

Did you use gloss paint? Did you key the surface with sandpaper first? I had similar problems with our stone window cills. I first needed to do some repairs (epoxy putty) then grind them to shape. I also removed multiple layers of peeling gloss paint, in the colours of the rainbow, using a steel wire brush on an angle grinder. I then refinished them with masonry paint which has adhered well. The only downside is that it is matt, not gloss

I'm afraid the cill has just been painted over when we moved in. So I'll try what you suggest thank you!

Has anyone got any advice on how to fix the soldier course?
