I have a small brick wall in my garden, there used to be a large tree just behind the wall and it looks like it's roots have caused the wall to crack.

I'd like to repair it to make it a bit more stable and was hoping for suggestions on the best type of concrete/mortar mix for an exterior wall. Any other tips gratefully received :)

Just get a bag of mortar from one of the sheds. Not cement, sand, postcreate or anything else other than mortar.

10kg bag should do it, but it may come in 20kg bags

In an ideal world you'd take the broken bit out and clean off the cement. Then rebuild the wall in a couple of stages as the combined weight of the bricks would squeeze the lower mortar out.

You can buy a pre pack of mortar mix which is expensive by comparison to separate bags but easy
