Hi everyone

We have just moved into a house and have taken down some roller lines only to find this hole in the wall.
Can anyone recommend how to repair this? I have some plasterboard and a small plaster kit from wicks. View media item 79853

Come on give us a chance: you post the pic sideways, and dont remove the obscuring blind?

Perhaps remove the blind, and post fresh pics including one of the whole window head to the ceiling?

That's not the whole window head but whatever:
do you want to investigate and find a possible cause - or do you just want to make it respectable enough to decorate?

Do you intend to stick with the present roller blind?

Yeah just enough to decorate... Unless it looks like it will be a reoccurring issue. The roller blind will be back up so aesthetics aren't a high priority for me.

Remove any material from previous repairs - brush off and damp down.

Mix a little plaster as a slurry and mix it into newspaper sheets as a paper mash.

Push this mash into the openings and without trying to smooth it out just leave it for 30 mins or so, then push any proud bits back from the finished surface.

Leave it to set. Next day, damp it, and all edges, down and apply a coat of plaster to achieve a smooth surface. Wait 20 to 30mins and go over it with the steel trowel once or twice and its done.
