Hi

Can anyone please suggest if it is possible to just coat an old cracked/broken concrete yard with something which will not raise the height too much (breaching damp proofing or covering airbricks).

Just a skim type of thing, so than I don't have to get it all dug out.

Cheers.

problem is your underlay , coating if added will wind up cracking again.

or you could put paving slabs on it. they will accomodate a little bit of seasonal movement without cracking.

the average back yard has very thin concrete so it might not be too bad to dig it up, lower the soil level, use the old material for hardcore, lay new.

Hi

Thanks for the advice. Decided the job was too big for me so am getting a builder to dig up then re-concrete the yard.

Cheers
