My new house has had the yard concreted over and it is sloped, which means the rain water runs to the side of the house. Over time this has let to damp in the kitchen so i need to sort it out and looking for advice.

Why have so many people done this in the first place? Raised their yard with concrete and caused damp, it seems to be really common here in Newcastle upon Tyne. It was the same at my last house.

Presumably i will need to get a pile driver, smash up all the concrete, smash up whatever is underneath too and then lay slabs. Does anyone have any advice on how to do this? How do i make sure that i don't break any underlying sewers or drainage? Will the slabs support my two ton campervan after?

Any help, pointers and advice would be really appreciated.

picture of the yard, rather than just the house
what drains do you around the yard ????
soakaway
maybe a french drain along the wall to collect the water But will need to go somewhere

is it above the dampcourse

where does that gutter pipe go

Just an idea of what a french drain is and a video i watched a while back

French drain is a good way forward. Leading to a soakaway..

Thanks, that video looks good - I'll watch it tonight. Here are a few more pics: I'm in the middle of getting a new roof so the yard's not looking its best right now.

i can not see the drains , in photos , which must take surface water
I dont know the regs, so i'm sure someone else may help

The old drains and gullies are probably cracked and leaking in the ground, too. Dig them out when you cut the concrete.

And look for the original DPC. Is it visible above the concrete?

Your pic with the downpipe and gulley shows how far the idiots raised the level.
