repairing water damaged ceiling

Hi all.
I had a major water leak under the bedroom floor. Living room is dierectly below.
The ceiling is not wilting but water has lesft marks thru the emulsion and cracks have appeared where the plaster board joints are.
Anyone got any good ideas on what to use before re-emulsioning?

1st you need to make sure that the damp has totally dried out??
then make sure the ceiling is safe,put in more screws if needed,
then you have a choice?
either undercoat over the water stains or use zinser.
