Reparing gutter down pipe with split

I have a cast iron down gutter pipe with has a vertical crack about 10 inches long and a few mm wide,what is the best way to repair it so i can paint it thanks.

Could try dent filler, (for cars).

Get some flashband from a decent supplier and torch it on with a blow gun or decent hair dryer

If you heat it up the impregnated tar melts and will seal up the crack
