Hi guys im new to this forum and need some good advice.
I've recently had a fire in my kitchen and need to replace my hob i used to have a gas hob and want to replace with a ceramic 30AMP i think.
I have a electric oven allready in place pluged in to a 13 amp socket leading to a cooker switch above worktop on its own circuit with its own mcb in the cu. How do i go about connecting a ceramic hob to my existing setup thanks for the mutch needed help. (ps not shure what amp
the mcb is how do i tell?. It has a32 on the mcb if that helps)

Without the power rating of hob, size of cable, the conditions the cable runs through (insulation etc..) and the rating of the MCB feeding the oven there is very little we can tell you.

To find the hob rating have a look in the manual or look at the back of the hob for a kW rating.

To find out the cable size, measure the dimensions and compare them to those stated here.

To find the MCB rating look here:

It's quite likely you're going to need to either upgrade the cable and MCB or to install a separate supply for the hob.

Fred

If the oven is on a 13A plug it will be easier to find a new socket for the oven and use the hob on the cooker feed (if it is big enough for the hob, of course!)

thanks for the replys guys so is it likely my b32 fuse is a 32 amp how do i find out what amps the cabe is i had a look and all i can say is that the cable is thick thicker than normal lighting and socket cable. (sorry explained the best i can)
