Hi all, I'm trying to replace my es3247b with a Drayton Wiser 3 channel system. I have connected the progammer which has connected fine and all setup. Both of the wireless thermostats have connected fine. I have the old thermostats still connected, I thought reading the guide I just needed to turn them up to full (35c) and then when the wireless thermostats recognise the need for heat during the schedule the heating will turn on.

Problem is the heating comes on when needed but then turns off after 10mins (roughly), it then comes back on again after 5 mins and the cycle continues.

What am I missed here. I thought it maybe had something to do with the old wired thermostats. I have taken a picture of the back of them (FYI, I'm a DIY and electrical newbie)

I don't think there is a problem with the wiring, provided the old room thermostats are on their maximum setting and not switching the heating off. I suspect what you see may be the way the Wiser operates in an attempt to stop the heating going over the set temperature.

If you want to hardwire the old thermostats to take them out of the circuit completely, then the wires in L and 5 should be conected together and the neutral in 2 isolated / insulated separately. You can do it at the thermostat end and leave the thermostats physically in place, or trace the cables back to their origin and make the link there. This option allows the old thermostats and cables can be removed.

Thanks so much for the reply. So to confirm and I'll do it now

L + 5 - put together into L (1)
N (2) - take out and put into a separate block?

So I have done that (tried that last night but wanted to wait for a response first), and it seems to be doing the same thing of just turnoff after 5 mins or so then coming back on again at the wired units

Unless there’s an issue with the Drayton Wiser, the it could be another component. What boiler do you have and what other controls, eg motorised valve(s)?

If it was working OK before the Wiser was installed, then it would seem to be responsible then. I've installed a couple of them but not set them up afterwards, so not too sure how their software works. If the instructions don't help, give Wiser a call 0333 6000 622.
