Just moved into new house, trying to change double light switch in main room, replacing with smart switch.
Removed old light switch, and found wiring as in picture, never seen this configuration before, at present one switch works main room light, the other works two wall lights, i have tried to wire new smart switch but cannot get both lights to work, does anybody know where i am going wrong?

New switch has a neutral terminal, which may be required.
Your wiring has no neutral.
Are there instructions for this new switch?

Neutral is required.
Unless there is additional wiring that isn't shown in your picture of the existing switch, you cannot fit the new one.

All conventional "dumb" switches will work.

Anything electronic which doesn't need a neutral might work, but you might have to deal with problems of the lights glowing/flickering/flashing when off.

Anything electronic which does need a neutral wont work without rewiring to get a neutral to the switch position.
