Replace outside lights with pir units

Hello
I recently had a garden room built which has 2 outside lights operated by a single switch inside. I would like to replace the lights with pir units, and my question is can I simply swap them out? I am unconcerned whether the lights then come on independently if only one lights pir is activated (actually prefer this).

Is it possible just to swap these lights?

Why do you want PIR activated lights?

Because it's dark at night. The PIR light will enable him to see where the garden room is, perhaps?

I'll get back to you on this just as soon as I can find my convincing explanation, which I'm sure I must have somewhere, for thinking that "garden room" meant something attached to the house.
