Replace toilet pan (bowl ) only help

Hi Retired neighbour has asked for help if it is possible just to replace the toilet pan and use the old cistern.
Are they all standard for the cistern to fit? He is aware that best option is replacing both the property in question is rental few months ago the cistern has had complete fluidmaster flush + inlet valve he is also aware
Of getting right pan connecter as the soil pipe is cast iron thanking in advance for guidence and help
