We have been receiving the +Bat Mis 0001 - Error on our Galaxy 2 alarm recently and I believe this may be related to the 12v battery in the control panel enclosure.

Can I just replace this battery with a simple swop or is there something else that needs to be done to ensure power remains whilst I swop the battery to make sure all the settings aren't lost ?

YES

It's normal to keep mains power on while changing the battery, but if you are not competent around electrics, you should switch mains off before opening the panel lid. The panel has non volatile memory, so will keep all settings apart from the time and date. The time and date is easily corrected after powering back up.

Got a new battery but now have a silly question. The negative terminal won't easily come off the old battery. Positive one was fine. Can I safely WD40 it ?
