I am currently installing a second bathroom in a loft extension to my bungalow. The existing soil pipe is cast iron and has no branches. I need to replace the soil pipe, but am unsure as to the regulations regarding its height above windows.

The old soilpipe extends above the lower bathroom window by 2ft and is 6 ft away from the new dormer window. Do I also have to ensure that the pipe is above the new dormer window?

Thanks

I've just been into building regs and see that the pipe needs to be 900mm above the nearest opening window which it is. But the new dormer window is more than 3m away from the top of the existing soil pipe. Would the soil pipe still need to be higher than this window, or is the distance enough to satisfy the requirements?
