Currently have a Boilermate 2000 fed by a Baxi Solo PFL 30. Having Solar PV installed so want to be able to heat water with excess electricity when available.

House is a 3 bed semi with an extension. Extension has wet underfloor heating (approx 24 sq metres). Rest of the house has 6 rads, two towel rails and one of those underplinth heaters in the kitchen (plumbed into heating and never turned on). House was built in 2002, walls & loft fully insulated and decent double glazing throughout.

The Boilermate has no chance of retrofitting any immersion to it, so looking at removing and replacing with a conventional hot water tank.

We want to keep the mains pressure HW (no requirement for more than one shower or a bath at a time).

So any suggestions on what to replace it with and also whether the Baxi will be up to the job of heating the lot.

I notice that when the heating does come on the BM will fulfill the heating for a couple of minutes but will then ire the boiler to keep the store temp up.

Any help would be appreciated?
