I've got a 32mm plastic wastepipe going into a stack pipe but I want to replace it with a 40mm to take a shower waste. Any sugestions on the best way to remove the 32mm where it fits in the boss. Or could I connect the shower to the existing 32mm pipe? is it big enough to take the water flow? Thanks in advance.

no don't connect it to the 32mm.

what type of boss is it rubber, solvent weld ?

Might have to remove the old boss and a small section of the soil pipe. Careful measuring and cutting should mean you can slot a short boss pipe in, may need to use a slip collar to reconnect. Fit a 40mm boss adaptor for the new waste.

Thanks for the idea, problem is that access is nearly impossible to get a strap round
