Hi, I have a hallway ceiling light that has a 2-way switch at the top and bottom of the stairs, controlling 1 light. See attached picture of connector block with a single core wire (red) and a twin and earth wire.

Second picture shows the switch at the top of the stairs. Twin and earth has the red and black going in to L1 and L2 with brown sleeving. Single core has the red with brown sleeving going to live.

Removing the block and replacing with a new light, would it be red from the single core to live on the light fitting, red from the twin and earth to loop, neutral to neutral and earth to earth?

Presumably as that is how it is wired to the old light.
Although one wire cannot be a loop.

Does the light work?

Don’t see how the light works 2 way as the red core is isolated in the right hand block. Can you upload a pic of the wiring of the other switch?

Second switch which is a 3-gang

I hadn’t tried, thought I’d check here first, but yeah I’ve just tried and seems to be working.

There must be more connections in the ceiling to make the black (that is connected to the light) a Neutral - assuming the Brown and Blue are the right way round
