Hi all,

I bought a wireless Salus RT500RF thermostat to replace an existing wired RT500 so that I can move it's location without rewiring. I thought it would be simple case of swapping them, but looks like I was wrong!

The current thermostat only has two wires and an earth - which I presume are live and switched live. Can someone confirm whether I can do a straight swap with these units or will I need to run a permanent live feed to the new RT500RF?

RT500 has two terminals: L, SL
RT500RF has four terminals: NO, COM, L, N

Thanks in advance.

The receiver unit requires a permanent supply, L&N as well as the switched contacts.
However the received is usually located next to the boiler or wiring centre, so it's not necessary to install any extra wiring.

Many thanks for the reply - never occurred to me that I can install the receiver wherever suits me!

Thanks again
