After a shower replacement a tile with an unsightly hole in it has been uncovered and wish to replace it.

Is it viable to replace just one tile in a wall of them?

They are stuck to a lath-and-plaster wall (c.1906) with normal tile cement. They are very closely grouted so I would have to be careful about how I dug one out, I guess. I have only five spare tiles to play with!

Rake out hte grout around it and then drill a hole in the center. You should then be able to lever the pieces out.
