Replacing batteries in Texecom Odyssey wireless bell box

Hi,

I'm trying to replace the batteries in my Odyssey bell box. The instructions for the manual say I need to enter the engineer hold-off mode by doing one of two things:

a) activating and deactivating the strobe 3 times in 30 sections.
b) pressing the omit key when in the bell test menu.

The batteries are now flat so I can't do a)
Do I need to do b) or will all be fine becuase the unit doesn't have any battery power left. If I need to do b) then should I see any response from the control panel when I press omit? I tried this, but the control panel didn't seem to give me a response.

Won’t matter anyway ...if they are flat ...just get on with it ...
