Couple of rooms upstairs are squeaky as hell and one is starting to squeak.
Heard best way is to replace with plywood. Don't want the squeak to come back in year or so ago would rather sort the problem properly rather than temporary.

Is this the best way? Not got the time at the moment so would a joiner be best or a floor layer who fits let for instance.?

Thanks

Squeaking is sometimes caused by joist shrinkage ie. movement. Dont be hasty in ripping out floors without knowing exactly what the cause is.
When did this squeaking first start - this summer, last year etc?
Are the chipboard sheets screwed down? Were they glued down?
How old is the house?
Do you have solid walls or stud partitions?
Have you had any structural work done?
