Hi, moved into house about 10 years ago.
Single oven (2.3kW) just cooked itself. Hob (6kW) OK.
Removed oven and noticed both oven & hob connected via 13A plugs into double mains socket behind oven - Ooops?
Traced everything back and looks like:

40A MCB in CU -- 10mm(2) to DP Isolator Switch -- 10mm(2) to double mains socket.

Replacing with 2.5kW single-oven and 6kw Hob (neither supplied with cables).

With the above information would it be OK to;

a1) Replace the double mains socket face plate with a CCU+socket
a2) Wire the Oven flex (2.5mm with heat rating) onto 13A plug
a3) Wire the Hob into the CCU (or do I need to go via additional Terminal Outlet Box)

Would this require Part-P;
-- If I didn't install additional Terminal Outlet Box?
-- If I did install additional Terminal Outlet Box?

b1) As with (a) PLUS
b2) Replace the 40A MCB with a 40A RCBO - is it simply a swap (clearly if the RCBO fits!)

I think this is my preference as have little-uns and don't like the thought of 40amps if anything goes wrong......even if it is checked/certified.

Would this require Part-P?

c1) Replace the Isolator switch with small 2-Way CU (with Isolator)
c2) Feed Hob & Cooker directly (with MCB's rated to each device)

Would this require Part-P?

Thanks, Brian

Are there any work surfaces for preparing food where the oven and hob is? If so it's considered as a kitchen and will require Part P for a domestic property in England and Wales and at £110 to council building control not really worth doing cheaper to get a registered electrician.
Don't complain on here send a letter to MP we did not make rules.
