Replacing Diplomat Door HInge

I am trying to replace the hinge on my Diplomat oven.

Removing/replacing the door is no problem and neither is changing the hinge.

The problem is that the new hinge is in the "door closed" position (top pic), but the old hinge is in the "door opened" position (bottom pic) and I cannot open the new hinge against the very strong springs in the hinge.

There must be any easy way, when you know how, but I can't find it?

Usually able to do it with a piece of rag in my hand or wearing a glove.

I use a large pair of pliers to open them.
