The house has a 'Conqueror' alarm system as installed by the builders in 1997. The external sounder battery is flat and worn out again (I replaced it once already a few years back), and I'm thinking to just replace the sounder this time with something like a Pyronix Deltabell Plus.

I've come across the options of a grade 2 or 3, is it just that grade 3 has better tamper options and if so would it be a suitable replacement?

Is the Pyronix Deltabell Plus a good choice?

Thanks for any advice.

Grade 3 will have no use on your system so don’t pay extra for something you can use .... delta bell is fine

The grade of equipment is for insurance approved alarm systems.
A grade 3 product will have inputs for monitoring faults.
Your pyronix system is ungraded due to age of equipment.
Just change the bell box for a new version.
Take photo of old wiring before you swap as this helps when reconnecting new bell box.

Many thanks for both replies.

I'll follow advice and get a grade 2 and be sure to photo old wiring.
