One of the external sills on my wooden windows has come loose. I'm fairly happy replacing the sill but have a question about sealing underneath it.
Beneath the sill there is a gap of about 0.5cm which had previously been filled with sealant. Under the gap is lead flashing. I was going to replace the sealant, which has failed, but have seen some advice suggesting that this is a drainage channel and should be left open.
I would appreciate any advice.
