Hi all,
I know nothing about access control. I have been asked to replace an old keypunch number type door lock, with the numbers above the handle, with a swipe card reader.
There is already a BT Type 3 pair cable going into the door jamb side of the lock, a mag lock presumably?
Is it as simple as cutting this cable, and splitting a pair across the card reader.
The client is getting all the parts as they already have this access system running. They will set it up and programme it, I just do the wiring up.
CW.
