I am replacing an old volvex 2 gang 1 way switch. I have searched but cant find my exact issue, but apologies if this has been asked before.
In my old switch, 3 seperate circuits appear to come into the back box.
All 3 black wires are connected in the back box, as is the earth.
So, 3 seperate red wires are connected to the 2 gang switch, to the A, A1 and B1 terminals. Another short red wire connects A to the B terminal.

Having done some digging, I THINK:
Current A wire goes into a COM terminal
Current short red wire goes between the 2 new COM terminals
Current a1 wire goes into one 1 way terminal, leaving
Current B1 wire to connect to the other one way terminal

Correct? I'm not touching a thing till I'm sure!
TIA

That is OK. If the new switch is metal connect the earth wires to its earth terminal.

Many thanks Winston, I have changed the switch. Nothing has gone bang, yet!

This seems to be what you're saying but it sounds like you have no A2 & B2 terminals

I suggest marking the red wire that goes to A and hence to B to ensure you don't get them mixed up.
Are you fitting a metal switch containing an earth terminal? If so you must fit an earth wire from the existing earths.
