Replacing old ceiling light - 6 wires into 3?

Hi, can anyone please help feed a new light fitting with 3 wires (yellow/green, blue, brown) into the existing old ceiling wiring consisting of:

- 2xred (into existing LIVE)
- 2xgreen (into existing EARTH)
- 1xblack (into existing unlabelled)
- 1xblack (into existing unlabelled)
(i.e. there were four "holes" altogether in the existing little plastic fitting with tiny screws to hold the wires in place).

The new fitting only has 3 "holes" (Earth, Live, Neutral) at the end of each wire which are held by the little screws.

I tried feeding the 2 red into Live, 2 green into Earth and both individual blacks into the Neutral but it blew the 5 Amp fuse wire at the Fuse box!?

Is this the correct wiring I should have done? Or not? Or did I simply not tighten the wires enough or something daft like that (it was ridiculously fiddly and wasn't sure if all wires were in!).

One of the black will be the switch return and one of the red will be the switch feed, you need to find out which one it is. the return goes to the terminal with 2 holes and the light cable live(brown) connects to this.

Thanks, that did it, as already had previous light fitting to use as reference for the brown and blue, just put additional new yellow/green to terminal marked E and new light fitting now working fine.

Should've just kept dusty old 4 hole block in the first place and ignored attractive new 3 hole block... guess if it ain't broke...
