replacing tiles with lino a good idea ?

I have a small flat where the kitchen floor section is tiled, the tiles are slightly cracked , Im wondering if its worth replacing with lino, obviously the floorboards will have a rough surface when the tiles are chipped off, and it may not be as easy to slide appliances into place without damaging the lino ?
