what would I need to connect new wc to soil pipe...?

A lot of luck to start with I think. I'd be pretty confident the new WC pan will have an outlet lower than that existing one, cutting the cast back close to the wall might give you enough fall on the outlet pipe, but it already looks like your asking the proverbial to run uphill, and it only thanks to a decent flush that things are shifting already....

If that will work in terms of fall, (I'd check before removing existing pan), then you can easily get a Pan Connector with a Boss for the basin connection, just use an extension section to make up the gap to the soil pipe.

I've had that wc for ages never had any issues when flushing ...I was thinking of cutting the lip off the collar on the caste iron soil pipe...will make sure I check the new wc has a higher outlet like the present one..

That might be your downfall, the existing is a 'Low Level' setup, probably A 9 litre flush and will do the job very well. New WC's are 6 litre flush, Close Coupled, and (as you may well find out), have a woeful flush performance compared with their predecessors. The 6 Litre flush was introduced as a Water Saving exercise, which has also proved woefully inadequate, as many people are now finding they have to flush at least twice, (so using minimum 12 litres of water instead of 9), just to clear the ruddy pan.

Then asking the contents to go uphill on their exit (as new Pans are Horizontal Outlet as standard, so outlet is higher than older P trap pans), just becomes too much....

That doesn't look like an easy job, as said above. Assuming that cast iron pipe is going out to an external stack, I think you're going to have to replace the pipe going out through the wall and change the level and angle in order to connect successfully to a modern toilet.

Plastic soil is 110mm, standard across the Manufacturers. The existing plastic looks like Terrain, fittings should be solvent welded, so (if done properly), wont come apart, but if you can tease the bend off the cast, (not sure quite how they've joined it, may just be slotted over), and then can get the junction out of the Collar below, you may stand a chance.

Might be prudent to reroute that waste pipe through alongside the soil pipe when you open the wall up, and connect it into the boss on the side of the new plastic junction.

What's the internal diameter size of the cast iron soil pipe? I've been told to simply cut off the collar of the soil pipe...then simply use a flexible pan connector from new toilet and push it in as far as it could go..will a standard wc pan connector fit into the cut soil pipe?

Hi guys..so I've cut the soil pipe..its diameter is 90mm , however a standard wc connector is not going to fit so I've got this

I've also got a flexible pan connector 200mm to 350. The problem is my new wc is back to wall fitting . With the adaptor in the soil pipe and the pan connector connected to wc and inserted into the adaptor I cannot move my wc back against the wall even with the wc flexi down to its minium of 200mm..basically the flexi pan connector is to long , I can't find any shorter flexi pan connectors . 100mm flexi should do. Any suggestions? I'd rather not take wc back and swap it for a close coupled wc which allows me more space between the connection on wc to adaptor in soil pipe..
Can you cut a flexi pan connector to suit?
Cheers

I would cut out cast iron below toilet externally and replace all above with new plastic soil, less hassle .
