i have a small ceiling to reskim ceiling has been artex , ive scraped all high spots of artex ready for reskiming, question i have did a small ceiling a few months ago were i PVA it first, finishes coat started to dry out very quickly
looking for advices on correct procedure on applying PVA and any other advices on why finishes coat was drying out quickly

you should have gave it two coats of pva let the first coat set than start skimming when the second coat is tacky but i nearly always overboard and skim less chance of problems and the difference in price compared to scrapeing, pva wait then pva again then skim is pennies.

do you mean 2 coats of pva before starting to reskim and let pva dry fully
before staring to reskim ceiling. i was told i could water down pva slightly may this had a cause

pva the ceiling first and let that coat dry then pva again and skim when the pva is tacky, the mix depends on the pva ie cheap pva is usually watered down already, i usually mix it so it looks like milk not too wet not too thick..............
