Restoring Brick Face with Colour Matched Sculpted Mortar. But texture??

Evening all

I'm trying to achieve the excellent results seen in the images below.

I've got decent at colour-matching mortar using Everbuild 'mortar tones' (cement dyes)
I can sculpt this mortar to replicate a brick.

But I can't work out what techniques to match the texture of the surrounding bricks.

I have used 40 grit sandpaper, but it's too smooth.
I have tapped with wire brush, which creates random holes which is good.

But can't work out how to create that gritty look.
Looks kind of sandblasted.

Any tips appreciated!

Try this on a test area but what about
to take a mould of a good surface?
it might stick to the brick surface so misting with oil or water might be needed?

There is something that you can do with builder’s silicone and washing up liquid

you may be able to print the pattern?
