Hi i buillt an extention two stories, however i have damp patches above the upstairs windows after prolonged driving rain.
there are no weep vents and no cavity trays.

is there some way of fixing this?

it will involve removing the brickwork, or sections thereof, immediately above the openings and fitting cavity trays with w/v.

there is no point just fitting the vents without a tray to collect the water.

the lintels to a certain degree, will collect the water. in reality all they are doing is interrupting the flow of water from continuing its harmless journey downwards.

you may be fortunate, in that if you were to vent a perp or two that all the water will be discharged externally.

you would be very lucky if this were the case.

also, there may be a collection of mortar snots on top of the lintel centre bar that are dictating whether the water chooses to go internally or externally.

pot luck i'm afraid.
