Richard Tice and Isobel Oakshott move to Dubai

About 5 million ex-pats living abroad. Approx 1m working people. In UAE it’s around 1/4 - 1/3rd million. But there are plenty of other options.

Approx 80-100k U.K. nationals leave each year (long term) among around 500k general leavers.

So 1m+ brits who could pay U.K. taxes are not paying U.K. taxes.

You do realise that not a cent dollar is actually spent on Mars --- right ?
I doubt Musk would be investing that kind of money without some preferential treatment, direct or indirect, in return

I live in the U.K. I tolerate the taxes I have to pay (just). It wouldn’t take much for me to reconsider. I’m explaining to you why others go.

Would I feel that I was getting the benefits of my nation without paying? No. I’ve paid millions in my working life already.
If you, or others don't want the benefits of the nation, then bye.

If you do, then dig in those pockets.

We need to get the work-shy who are far too comfortable sitting back claiming benefits back to work, to then dig in to their pockets a bit and contribute to the tax take as oppose to being a drain on our resources.

Here we go with the "all benefit claimers are scroungers".

I've already agreed with you, I've given up

Why do some people in the UK insist on calling them 'ex-pats' whilst simultaneously calling foreigners who come to the UK immigrants/migrants?
I have no problem with their home nation calling them expats and neither do I care if I am called an immigrant if I leave and live somewhere else.

As you are aware they can leave for a few years and come back if they want. So they can have both.

If you are a high earner the home nation or host nation needs to compete for your taxes, we aren’t slaves to jealous anti wealth governments wanting to punish success.

If you are a low value immigrant then of course you may not find the same willingness.

You used the word “spongers” you didn’t clarify who you meant.
These type of people:
I know there are some people and some families that live in a world of benefits.
You knew what "spongers" were when somebody else used the term and didn’t ask them for clarification on the meaning of the word. Why was that?

And that is the issue.

Wanting it but not paying for it
