I have a ridge tile mising from my roof, i have had a look at it and there is a fair bit of cement in place left from under the old tile, whats the best way of installing a new replacement ridge tile
If you try and leave the old mortar in place, then the ridge tile will not sit level with the adjacent ones. You need to remove the old mortar and re-bed the tile in fresh stuff.
...following on from woody, we have had to use an angle grinder in the past to remove stubborn mortar, this is so that the tiles, to which the mortar is stuck, don't get broken.
