hi - have a riello 40 + 530se c/box.

the heating hasn't been used since beginning of last summer as i've been abroad.

it had a leak at the air flap control jack that i've just replaced with a new seal.

when switched on the boiler motor just continues to run with no lockout.

as suggested on the forum, i removed the photocell but although the system now goes into lockout it does not attempt to fire prior to doing so. all i can hear is a click (on lockout)

the pump has been bled & is working ok.

any suggestions appreciated?

It's going into permanent ventilation mode. 4 reasons for this.

1 Faulty cell
2 Faulty solenoid
3 Faulty Control Box
4 faulty Motor

I fix this fault in the above order (easiest and cheapest first. You'll be unlucky if it's the motor!)

thanks - i just checked the continuity of the solenoid coil wires blue>black & blue>brown - the blue>black is "open".

i'll try a new coil (& a photocell anyway)

cheers
