hello,,,i have a rilello oil burner and it has airlocked,,,a few times in the past it has done this and i usually just open the bleed screw,,,press the reset button and pull out the photo cell so its got constant light to trick it into running constant until all the air bubbles come out etc,,,this time i got the bright idea to clean the filters before i bled it as above,,,the boiler is not gravity fed and is on a single pipe system so needs to be primed up to the pump,,,ive tried the usual method but there seems to be too much air in the pipes,,,the tank is quite a distance from the boiler,,,i wondered if anyone knew where i could buy a tool called boilerbleed or something similar???,,,which is screwed into the pump and primed with your thumb,,,any help greatly appreciated.............

Disconnect the flexi oil line and attach a length of clear plastic pipe ( 10mm) over the nipple. Then suck until you have oil in the pipe. Shut the control tap and reconnect the pipe to the pump, open the tap and away you go. If you are expecting the pump to lift from the tank, do you have anon return valve in the supply pipe?

i found out my mistake the next morning mate,,,the filter nearest the boiler had oil underneath,,,the filter cup wasnt on the o ring right,,,no wonder i couldnt get the diesel through,,,once id got the filter oil tight i just done the usual thing of loosening the bleed screw,,,pulling the photocell out and starting the boiler,,,it bled itself in about 4 mins im pleased to say......
