Girlfriends mum is a self employed childminder and she is losing all her kids, all the parents are getting made redundant or can't afford it!
Why not try? Offer good value for money, like you say: not much too loose.
My neighbour runs an au pair business, never been so busy - there are still loads of clients out there for here, she just knows how to find them and offer value for money.
